EPPEI – THE CAT

Crochet - Amineko -FO1

History
There is something with this amigurumi character that pulls you to make one… especially when you see how creatively some people have photographed it (Just check Amineko flickr group).
The last step in the pattern is “Name the Cat”… seriously; so i named mine EPPEI.
If you are wondering why EPPEI… It’s the first thing that came to my mind when i thought of a name to my crocheted cat. It’s the name of a child character in a japanese movie that i saw sometime back. It’s a beautiful movie only that i don’t remember the name of it… 😦

Yarn: Local Acrylic
Hook: 2.5mm
Others: Stuffing, tapestry needle, embroidery floss and dried beans
Size: 12.5″
Pattern: Amineko by Nekoyama.

Notes:
I think i followed this pattern to the dot.
It sits on the TV replacing my amigurumi duck which somehow got misplaced and is a hit with neighbour hood kids….

All it took is two days to make it (thats coz i didn’t have stuffing on the first day).
After completing it i misplaced my prized set of tapestry needles and all the other stuff is on halt. I sent ‘A’ to a couple of craft stores in Chennai but he couldn’t find huge Tapestry needles ( at least 3″ of length, thick and with a huge eye to accommodate at least Aran weight yarn). If you know any store in Chennai that stocks huge tapestry needles, please please leave a message…
