Chennai Weekend – I became a Public Knitter

July 14, 2008

4th June
I and my DH though of visiting my parents over the weekend. As i packed my things over friday evening to catch the train, my DH asked if i am packing my knitting stuff so that i wont be bored during the journey. I said i packed it, but not with the plan to knit on the train… ( but now after he asked… yes i will be knitting on the train)

I unpacked the Juno stole once i settled in the train and started knitting furiously 🙂 I didnt attract many stares as there were a very few ladies in the compartment (good for me… i dont like people starting when i am doing something as i become too self-conscious)

Needles to say i knitted on my way back to chennai also 😉

I crocheted in Public before… that also in a train, but i kept the yarn and majority of my work in my handbag and crocheted unlike my knitting.

    Yay for public knitting!

When I visited India for three months earlier this year, I knit EVERYWHERE. Though some people stared, I figured it was more out of curiosity. Many people, including men and women, came up to me to know more.

I always knit and crochet and even do tatting in public places. I love to see the peoples reactions! Some of them are just too funny.
