Weekend in Chennai – Lets go Bowling

Bowling, an addiction that will soon catch you if it still hasn’t. Its a great way to spend a leisure weekend bowling. You can do it in the middle of your shopping, hanging out with friends,  before/after a movie, along with a b’day party, with family. For professinals and aspiring professionals there are events held once in a while by “Chennai Ten Pin Bowling Association”, “Snow Bowling Association, Chennai”, “Tamil Nadu Tenpin Bowling Association “.

Lets explore some bowling alleys in chennai this weekend.
Snow – bowling 
Location: HM. Centre, III Floor, 15 A, Nungambakkam High Road, Chennai-600 034.
Timings: 11am to Midnight.

4 lane center Located in the heart of the city. the place is well maintained. Also offers two pool tables and video Karaoke to sing along. Snacks, cool drinks and veg and non-veg sandwitches are at Qwiky’s coffee island. It also has a Music theatre with big projector.
Want to relax after Work, hangout with friends on weekends, catch a match on big screen, this is the place.

Bowling point  
Location: 73, Sardar Patel Road, Guindy, Chennai – 32

This is a 7 lane center, a very neat place with good service at in-house restaurant. Has an average pool/ billiards tables and VR games.

Down Under 
Location: 123, Marshalls Road/ Rukmani Lakshmipathi Road, Egmore.
Timings: 11am to Midnight.

Four lane, ten pin bowling arena with computerized coaching ( heard to be average ). Also has a three hole Mini-golf course, landscaped to give thrill & playing golf; Billiards & Snooker in a lovely ambience; Fun Vedio games. Delicious bite Vibrant & colorful vegetarian restaurant. Big Screen TV, Karaoke room. Open for Individuals, family with Student Membership.

Wild West
Location: S-77, Spencer plaza Phase II, Second Floor, 769, Anna Salai, Chennai.

Wild West is 8000 square feet hangout and also Chennai’s first theme Snooker/Pool parlour. There is also a bowling alley here so its Shopping + Bowling in Spencers.
The Wild Café serves snacks and beverages. The recently introduced Happy Hours Scheme offers a reduced tariff between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm on weekdays.

Mayajaal
Location: on ECR (after the Toll Gate)

Mix movies and bowling at Mayajaal on ECR, Chennai’s largest and only 8 lane Bowling Alley. For kids there is a lane with bumpers.
There are three pool tables. State-of-the-art sound system keeps playing favourite tunes. Mayajaal also frequently conducts tournaments and events to promote this addictive and entertaining sport.

If you are very much serious about bowling and want no distractions, visit mayajaal on a weekday. Weekends are filled with families and kids. The kids run with chips and other snacks all round the place, giving house cleaning people a tough time.
